In recent years, the off-road motorcycle segment has split noticeably: mature fuel models hold the overseas base steady, while electric off-road keeps gaining heat. Many domestic factories have chosen a dual-line layout, developing and mass-producing both fuel and electric off-road models.

Chongqing Like Motorcycle is a representative company, having built two complete production lines for fuel off-road and electric off-road, with in-house control from frames and power components to full-vehicle tuning, covering kids’ entry models, competition track models and trail-crossing models, with considerable annual capacity and products sold overseas year-round.

Huayang Off-Road has deep roots in fuel off-road and in recent years has stepped up its electric off-road efforts, transferring years of chassis and suspension tuning experience from fuel bikes to electric ones, retaining the hardcore setup of professional off-road large wheels and long-travel suspension to serve both veteran fuel riders and new electric riders.

Zhejiang Apollo is also a long-established export factory with a dual-power layout, bringing fuel off-road and electric off-road to global markets in parallel and ranking among China’s top ten non-road motorcycle exporters for consecutive years, meeting overseas dealers’ diverse sourcing needs. TAIMU MOTO also follows the dual-line route, leveraging Chongqing’s industrial supply chain advantages to develop fuel and electric off-road models in parallel, focusing on ODM custom exports and supplying dealers worldwide.

In addition, major manufacturers such as Zongshen and CFMOTO are also rolling out electric off-road product lines on top of their existing fuel off-road offerings. The biggest advantage of such dual-line factories is the ability to share supply chains for frames, suspension and brakes, spreading R&D costs, so they can take on traditional fuel orders while also capturing the electrification policy benefits in many European and American countries, offering overseas customers more flexible product selection options.
